TTT are now able to access the Tesco development contribution, as set out in the Section 106 Planning Agreement reached between Worcester County Council and the company. This funding is towards the provision of transport services to help people from Tenbury and surrounding areas access the town and will be paid to the charity over a five year period.
Chairman John Driver commented “We are delighted this has finally come to fruition, especially when it was one of the main considerations in forming our charity some three years ago. TTT is responsible for ensuring these payments are fully accounted for by way of regular reports to Worcester County Council.
These funds will enable TTT to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to support those in need of transport, particularly in respect of accessing health and shopping facilities.
However, the charity recognises that efforts must continue to be put in place to ensure sustainability after these payments cease and TTT will work hard to achieve this.”
