Wheelchair Accessibility

Your local accessibility solution

Tenbury Transport Trust are now more wheelchair friendly than ever. Our minibuses are equipped with tail lifts to ensure that wheelchair users can access our regular bus services, as well as trips and excursions booked by local community groups.

Our Wheelchair-Accessible vehicle (affectionately known as the WAV) has provided a whole new lifeline for wheelchair users in our community. If you, or a friend or loved one are in need of wheelchair-accessible transport for medical or social trips, then Tenbury Transport Trust can help. We do ask that a family member, friend or carer accompanies the client on the trip as a chaperone, at no extra charge, to assist with the trip.

Many of our wonderful volunteers are trained in the safe and efficient transportation of wheelchair users in the WAV. Simply inform the office that you require the WAV when booking a trip. Wheelchairs must be manufactured to crash-tested standard in order to be transported in the WAV, but TTT are able to check this and have their own transportable wheelchair if required.

WAV Friends and Family

Anyone with a valid UK driving licence can sign up as a Tenbury Transport Trust Volunteer Driver for the purposes of using the WAV to transport one specified client i.e. a loved one or friend. This means that your loved one can be included in family gatherings and attend any appointments and personal business without relying on the availability of a Volunteer.

Pre-booking is easy.  Just pick up the phone and call our team between 9am & 1pm Monday to Friday on 01584 810491 to reserve your space .
